About Awas Yojana 2024
The Central Government has started the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana 2024 to provide permanent houses to all the homeless citizens of the country. Through this scheme, the government provides financial assistance for the construction of houses to the citizens living in slums as well as to the citizens of EWS/LIG and MIG categories. Under this scheme, the government provides financial assistance of Rs 120,000 for constructing a permanent house. This financial assistance amount will be provided to the citizen in three equal installments. The government aims to provide housing to about 26 lakh homeless citizens by 2024-25.
